UNLOCKING THE WORD OF GOD BELIEF STATEMENT

Belief Statement of Unlocking the Word of God

At Unlocking the Word of God, our beliefs are the foundation upon which we buildour ministry. They guide our mission, shape our teachings, and inspire our commitment to sharing the transformative power of the Scriptures. We hold these beliefs with conviction and strive to reflect them in all that we do.

1. The Authority of Scripture

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible word of God. It is the supreme authority for faith and practice, providing the ultimate standard by which all beliefs and behaviors are to be measured. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

2. The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal, sharing the same divine essence. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

3. The Deity and Humanity of Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary atonement for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return in power and glory. (John 1:1, 14; Philippians 2:6-8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

4. The Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today, convicting of sin, regenerating, sanctifying, and empowering believers for godly living and service. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer at the moment of salvation, providing guidance, comfort, and assurance of their relationship with God. (John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22-23)

5. Salvation by Grace through Faith

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is not based on human merit or works but solely on the finished work of Christ on the cross. Individuals are justified, forgiven, and reconciled to God through faith in Him. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:23-24; Titus 3:5)

6. The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all believers, called to worship God, edify one another, and reach the world with the Gospel. The Church exists both universally, encompassing all believers, and locally, as congregations of believers who gather for worship, fellowship, and service. (1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 4:11-13; Hebrews 10:25)

7. The Great Commission

We believe in the mandate given by Jesus Christ to His followers to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey His commands. We are committed to evangelism, discipleship, and spreading the Gospel to the ends of the earth. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

8. The Return of Christ

We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of Jesus Christ. He will come again to judge the living and the dead, establish His kingdom, and fulfill God’s redemptive plan. Believers will be resurrected to eternal life, and unbelievers to eternal separation from God. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 22:12)

9. Christian Living

We believe God calls Christians to live holy and godly lives, reflecting the character of Christ in their actions, attitudes, and relationships. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, believers are to pursue righteousness, love, justice, and mercy, serving others and bearing witness to the transformative power of the Gospel. (Romans 12:1-2; Galatians 5:16-25; Micah 6:8)

10. The Power of Prayer

We believe in the importance and efficacy of prayer. Prayer is a means of communicating with God, seeking His will, interceding for others, and expressing our dependence on Him. We are committed to fostering a culture of prayer within our ministry and encouraging believers to cultivate a vibrant prayer life. (Philippians 4:6-7; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; James 5:16)

These core beliefs shape our identity as a ministry and guide our efforts to unlock the profound truths of God’s Word. At Unlocking the Word of God, we are dedicated to teaching, living, and sharing these truths, helping believers grow in their faith and experience the fullness of life in Christ.
